Luxor Library – Usage and Membership Policy

1. Library Usage & Borrowing Policy

The Luxor Library is open to students, researchers, and the general public. Members may borrow up to 2 books at a time for a 1-week loan period. Books may be renewed for an additional week only if no other member has requested them.

Late returns will initially result in friendly reminders, but repeated delays may lead to temporary bans or fines, depending on the member's history.

We ask all members to treat borrowed materials with care and return them on time to ensure fair access for everyone.

2. Membership Policy

To support the sustainability and development of the Luxor Library, we offer low-cost membership plans:

Membership registration is completed through a secure online form and payment via Stripe, the trusted system used by Luxembourg University Press. Members receive access to borrowing privileges and other benefits.

Membership is open to all and renewable monthly. Annual plans may be introduced in the future.

3. Library Membership Scholarship

To ensure access for all, we offer a Library Membership Scholarship for students who cannot afford the monthly fee.

Application Instructions:

To apply, please email us at library@unipress.lu with the following documents:

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and there is no limit to the number of scholarships available. You will receive a decision within two weeks by email.

Note: All membership applications are submitted separately through the online registration form.

4. Code of Conduct

We expect all members to uphold the library's values of respect, responsibility, and academic integrity.

Disruptive or disrespectful conduct may result in the suspension of library privileges.

5. Access & Opening Hours

The physical library is open during regular working hours and will be closed on Luxembourg and Egyptian public holidays.

The library website remains accessible 24/7, offering updates, resources, and member services at your convenience.
